Monti cap encroaching on toadstool leather

Was unsure whether to post this in the soft or the sps forum, so I apologize if this is the wrong one.

I have a small 25gal tank, and my red montipora cap is encroaching on my toadstool leather, to the point that they are now starting to touch. For the time being both seem happy, but ultimately will one try and sting the other?

Should I try and frag off the monti to keep them apart or will they continue to get along?

Any advice on what to do or what will happen would be appreciated, thanks

Generally you do not want anything growing into a leather. They have no sting to speak of but their chemical warfare game is effective and in a closed system it can make everything less healthy.

It should be pretty easy to break the Montipora to keep if from touching the Toadstool, however I've got the same thing happening in my tank and everything seems to be fine. I've got a Mycedium that's growing up the base of the Toadstool on the opposite side without any issues too. For whatever reason these things just seem to get along.

Thanks guys, I'll keep an eye on the leather and make some frags if it starts looking unhappy

I think that you should broke a piece of your montipora to prevent any damage of the two corals.

IMO this is the best solution or if possible, relocate the leather.
