Anemone identification
I received a couple of anemones on some live rock out of Fiji. Wonder if anyone could help me identify them.
I think the large green one is a Sabae but not sure. The others appear to be bubble. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

For some reason it doesn't looks like Majono(though I'm not sure), IMO you should wait for some more positive identification before you destroy them.

The green ones with orange tips are what some commonly call tulip anemones. They are invasive just like other small colonial anemones.

Thank you clownnut
I looked up majano and agree the smaller ones are likely this. Will get rid of. But this first one is quite large. 5-6 inches across. It prefers the bottom substrate and not the light. I am not convinced this is a majano unless others agree. |

Oops, I assumed that the first image was of a colony of anemones. If it's a single nem and is 5-6 inches as you mentioned, then it's probably a BTA. However, BTAs like rock crevices and not substrate. Can you take a photo of it under normal light (without the blue tinge)?
Coral Collection used to have one called a glowstick, but if you Google "orange tipped BTA" you'll see similar morphs.

Maybe more like 4 - 5 inches. It likes light but prefers to be towards the bottom with its back side Burried in the rocks.
This is what it looked like when it came in Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Can you describe what you see on the column? Hard to tell from the pic.

How about the mouth? Does it have white lines/streaks radiating from the middle?

If by column you are referring to the foot. It was a light green color and about as wide as the anemone top. It is buried in a crevice of a rock and can't see any portion of it now. Here is the anemone after stimulating it to close. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
