Devils Hand question - Worried

I have 2 nice Devils Hand Leathers. And they both open multiple times a day and look good like in my one picture but them half hour later they are shriveled and green. I would say they are closed more then they are open. Both do the same thing.

Any advice would be appreciate.

These corals can be very temperamental sometimes so what your describing sounds normal unfortunately. You could try increasing the amount of flow the corals are receiving. Sometimes this will snap them out of their stupor. Do you have any ornamental shrimp in the tank? These have been known to walk all over corals causing them to close up. As long as they're not turning black or deteriorating though they should be OK.

Mine do the same thing. I have two frags of them and one is always open and the other closed, then they switch. They’re growing well though.

may want to try moving them to different location, i.e. lighting and flow, to see if they are not happy at current spot. mine only closes at night or once in a while (many months) if it's shedding and does not like high flow. Otherwise its fully open all day even when just the reefbrite blue light is on.

Mine never look very good. IME they are hard to kill.

I see your alk is 10. That’s a touch high. What have your trends been? What was the alk last week? The week before and the week before that.

I would say your ALK and Ca are both high considering your salinity. With salinity that low I would expect you ALK and Ca to be lower. I would defiantly lower you ALK to 8.6-9.0.
