buying second hand equipment

why are so much second hand equipment so expensive? a item from 2012 should not cost almost as much as a item currently i was looing for a old mp 10 echotech marine on ebay and online nearly 200 plus i am like why? the new ones are 400 and way better they should be clost to 100 bucks at best
