Glass thickness question

Hello to all reefers out there!!

I am building a new project which I will post on reef central when it's finished and the question is this :

What thickness of glass should I put for

59L x 31Wx 25H inches or
150x80x65 in cm

I want To make it rimless peninsula with extra glass around the corners on the bottom for extra support

Regards

I prefer 5/8ths inch glass for anything 50 gallons and above.

I have choose 15 mm like you said but the question is if it's safe or should I put more glass on the top to make it stronger ? But then it will not be rimless

I'm getting about 200 gallons.

A standard rimmed 180, which has about the same height as yours, uses 1/2" I think.

A rimless would need much thicker glass. If you can put bracing on the top, like you suggested, that makes a significant difference.

Std is 1/2 for a std tank. For a homemade tank, rimless I would suggest 1". Gives you a lot more of a safety factor. I call it wiggle room.

If you put extra glass around the top it is no longer rimless. Rim around the top 1/2". No rim 1". That would be my guesses.
