ASM skimmer DC pump
Hello everyone. I have been using an ASM G3 on my 120 mixed reef for a few years ( anyone still use?) With good success And have thought about replacing the Sedra with a controllable DC pump to try and improve performance and reduce power load. Has anyone tried this? Any suggestion as to make model? Appreciate the input.
John

I use a ASM G3 for at least 14 years and it has worked very well for me.
I never considered putting a DC pump on it as Sedra 5000 has never missed a beat. The only issue I have ever had was the impeller swelling a few months after I gave it a long soak in vinegar. Now I know better and use citric acid which actually works better and is plastic safe.

Been awhile since i posted anything here. Kinda put the hobby on a back burner, but tank keeps ticking.
I came here looking for skimmer options. I have had trouble with the Sedra impellers stop working, never gave it a thought it was from cleaning them. |
