is this normal for a copperband to do?

I got my copperband about 5 days ago he was in the quarentine tank, and i put him in my tank about 2 days ago and all he's been doing today is swimming at the top with his mouth slightly at the surface. the perameters seem to be fine. does anybody know why this might be.

What where you treating for or was it just a precaution . If you where treating for something you should have waited to make sure you did not have a recurrence . I never
Q for anything shorter than 4 wks .

Sounds like low oxygen, but if that is the case all the other fish would be doing it as well. Copperbands are a very sensitive fish, and the behavior definately sounds odd. Unfortunately their really isn't much you can do except cross your fingers and hope for the best.

no im sorry but the system is not lacking o2, the skimmer provides more than enough o2 and the cheato seconds that, he just barely pokes his mouth out of the water, and none of the other fish have or are doing that

btw the treatment was precautionary, the place where we got him is very good about keeping their tanks clear of any infection, but i had seen a blue tang that was looking sick so i treated with an anti-biotic/anti-fungal, he hadnt been in the tanks more than a few hours when we got him so i dont think he got any thing any way

He could just be a little stressed and will pull through it. As I mentioned before, all you can really do is cross your fingers and hope for the best.
