Glad you got everything squared away quickly. Maybe when you are setting up your next tank you'll be ready for leds that have been proven. I've been happy so far and just hung the lights over my tank this weekend!

Thanks Dustin!!!! I cant believe how fast it went and we actually got another offer yesterday so we have a bidding war going on now! I cant wait to see pictures of your tank and how the Orpheks look. I am sure that by the time I am ready for lights there will be a whole new crew of fixtures out. The trends right now seems like some of the manufacturers are now pulling the white leds out and reducing the total wattage of the fixtures. The one thing I always said about my old fixture was that it was too strong and concentrated. One of the things I love about T5's is the even spread of light the bulbs produce. But what I love about the leds is the pop they bring out in the corals. I really like what I have seen on the new ATI fixture because it is a T5 fixture with LEDs rather than LED with T5's. The focus still remains on the T5's and the LEDs come in to provide that extra kick.

Definitely get some new pictures up on your thread about your light.

Thanks guys and I couldn't agree more!!!! The reality of it hit me yesterday when I took out my rocks, started catching and watching them leave. My 5 yr old son was pretty upset about it but as soon as I told him that we will have a bigger tank in SC the tears dried up and with a big smile on his face he said..."Really?" Now there's no way I can let my son down so I have to set up another tank and make it bigger. However if you remember my first post, I had to win a bet that involved an AB roller to get this tank. The wife has gotten smarter and this one is going cost me a little for the final approval. It's either going to have to sparkle or have wheels....she wants a golf cart to ride around in down there.

That's how you do it..."but honey, I promised the KIDS!!"

And what about a jewel encrusted golf cart? It would definitely be hers!

Shes probably is too busy on a golf cart forum planning out what kind of spinner wheels and margarita machine to get with the cart and talking about how it's going to cost her a massive aquarium to get it.

After meeting her last night you now know her weakness!!! You should see some of the stuff she finds and then says...."wait until you see what I want to do with this"

thanks guys! I will say that taking this tank down is making me re-think the size of my next one. I thought I wanted to go bigger but now I am thinking keeping it the same or downsizing a little bit.

I think the size you're at is a good one. I definitely think 36" wide is about as wide as I'd go unless I had a peninsula tank. Then again, it's not my tank so go BIG. 12 ft x 4 ft x 3 ft

Well the wall that I officially claimed as mine in the house we are buying is 15ft long so the options are endless but unfortunately the bank account isnt. I would love to do a 96x36x30 but I am thinking that I might go 84x36x????. Im not sure about the height yet. My last tank was 28" and that was a pain getting into to do anything. The room the tank will be in will have a vaulted ceiling so I was thinking about making the stand height higher but I just dont know.

Right now I am trying to find local guys down there that have their sumps set up in their garages and what issues they are faced with during the summer and high heat. There will be no fish room for this build and equipment under the stand is not an option. I started a thread in the equipment forum but I havent gotten any responses so I might start one up in one of the florida or california forums.
