Hi,
Names Eric and I've been out of the hobby for about 15 years and now that I am finally more settled I am finally getting back into things. I'm currently in the process of putting together a 90gallon Reef tank. I picked up a drilled Marineland tank the other day and am on the schedule to get a Lifereef filter setup. Hopefully I will have the tank setup by the end of October or early November. Glad to see forums like this are still around so I can get back up to speed with the new happenings in the hobby!

hello everyone, a pleasure to be in this fantastic forum. My name is Pablo. I have been in this hobbie for about 12 years, with some dropouts. 4 months ago I decided to go back to hobbie. I have a 40x tank with a sump. I have 15 kg of live rock I put it from 0, I did 2 months of cycling and started with all the optimum values. I have some zoas, rodactis, euphilias, sarcos, and several more corals, with 2 clowns and an anemone bubble. greetings to all from argentina

New to saltwater, long time freshwater

I have taking the plunge into saltwater. I have had all types of freshwater tanks over the last 25 years. But decided it was time to do something different. So I have taking the 29 high I have and converted it to what will be a reef tank. I know 29 is small but after the last move it is the tank I currently have. So we are on day 4 of cycling the tank. I have a mix of live rock and dry along with the live sand and shell base. Now we wait.

Jeremy

Hey yall. I'm a 19yr old who eventually gave into childhood nostalgia of his mother's reef tanks. As a kid I made drawings of the fishes in my mother's 220gal tank... the bird wrasse and the tangs were my favorite to draw! I also had a 55gal tank in my own bedroom with a tiny humu trigger (I love aggressive fish).
Nowadays I still draw, as I'm a self taught animator. I have yet to settle down into a stable living situation so I can actually get a new tank of my own. It'll be very exciting for me to reignite this hobby for even more artistic inspiration!

New member from Ireland!

Hi everyone,

My name is Alan, from County Meath, Ireland. 30, wife 2 kids and bun in oven
Had a pair of goldfish as a kid for around 9 years, then bought a pair for my daughter 3.5 years ago when my son was born. Unfortunately they passed away this summer while a neighbour was looking after them while on holidays This has led me to reset on the hobby

Thanks folks!

Reef Octopus DC Pump Controller

Howdy! Does anyone know how to get Reef Octopus DC Pump Controller to turn on? I did a water change (first one by myself), and after that the bendable black plastic suckers stopped working. My overflow is no longer flowing. I do not think the filtration system is operating at all. Any tips?

Smile Returning to reef tank after 20 years.

Returning to a reef tank after selling my 55 gal. reef twenty years ago. I'll be starting a 7.5 gal. nano for now and eventually go up to a larger tank. I will mainly be watching the nano section, but enjoy looking at everyone's setup and reading their experiences and advice.

Hello everyone, Sweet Al here. I had tropical tanks as a kid, but just bought a used 225 gallon to set up as a reef tank. I plan on spending a few months learning while stashing some cash to fund my adventure. Wish me luck!

New to Reef Central and loving it!!

We my husband and I are somewhat new as we started about 2 1/2 years ago. I had worked for a saltwater fish store in high school so I have a small amount of knowledge on this hobby. I just hope I'll be able to receive help from others here as I do have an impending question about our gorgeous vlamingi tang. Poor guy has white things hanging off his lips ..... I have a really good pic of this!!

Hi I'm Derek. I've been in the shadows reading and gaining as much information as I can here on RC. Figured it's time for me to join the conversation now that I may have some information to share. Love RC and all the people that help make it great!

Hydor Smartwave Wavemaker kit with 2 Koralis 3rd gen power heads
Aquamaxx HOB 1.5 Protein Skimmer
Aquamaxx Nemolight 72W LED fixture with controller

Hi all. I'm Nick from North Alabama. I'm new to the hobby and have been lurking for a while. Hoping to get started on my first tank this coming winter. I have learned a lot already here on RC and I'm sure I will have lots of questions once getting started. LFS are not very common in my area so I been reading here.

Hi everyone, I myself is pretty new on this hobby. I have a biocube 14 gallon that has been running for two months. It was given to me by my brother in law with a damsel fish. After making couple of trips to local fish store I find myself so hooked on this hobby. It’s has been some lesson learned for me as I got some beginner corals and didn’t make it. So I continued learning on the importance of water chemistry and everything I need to know for a successful reefer. I will reach out to you guys for any advice you can provide. I also learned that its very exciting and stressing at times.
