You have a quick 5min window to work on it before it start curing. I mix them in red large plastic cups. Just enough to use before they start drying. Afterwards, keep it outside for a few hours and good to go!

I'm very picky on rockscapes.. I think that's the most important part of tank design. Emarco works the best. Doesn't mess with tank PH either.
other folk's tank, made by Emarco

Oh boy hope I can pull something off that looks good. I really just need a big piece in the middle that branches like an arch!

just make sure you keep it within weight limit! I got carried away on that vertical rockscape, took 3 men to lift it up 6ft and into the tank
Also don't forget to measure your ceiling height. Large tank usually sit 6ft tall so you have around 2-3ft to fit in the final rockscape. For large structures, make it inside the tank mix in small batches, keep the rocks moist, and don't work on this under extreme heat. it may cause hairline cracks after drying use cups as support to play around with the structure, build the base first and then go crazy. always take a few steps back to look at it.

I thought it was like a putty inside the plastic tub. Lol cool I bought some keys dry rock too. I figure I'll buy some designer rock with color and vegetation and the die off will cycle my tank and seed the dry Rock. I'm kind of glad I thought you had molded the putty lmao I was like this guy is really detailed with the rock lmao

No pvc. Just rock on rock action with some Emarco at the joints. i used acrylic rods as foot support on a few pieces just in case.. a stomp works too
You can see it on the tall rock scape. All the cement colored parts are Emarco.

Just finished the e-marco application to my own rock scape... I had to leave one of the "islands" in 3 pieces so I'd actually be able to pick it up and put it in the tank. I'll have to bond it in place. I've got some large rocks and I'm already a bit worried about how heavy they may be (haven't moved them yet!). But it was an easy process and I really enjoyed doing it. You'll have fun too I'm sure.

Got some pics? I ordered the Denitrator, Geo 1218 Calcium Reactor, Algae scrubber, and Kalk Stirrer already arrived. Another 120 lbs of Bahama Oolite sand and 100 lbs of dry shelf rock. Electrician comes this weekend to dedicate a panel to the tank and Carpenter should swing by tomorrow to get started but wont be able to get water in until October which is a bummer but at least that will give time for everything to arrive, Any suggestions on bioreactors I can use f9or Carbon and phosphate if/when needed. Also ordered a 120 watt UV sterilizer.

You may reconsider using Oolitic sand as it's very fine. It's beautiful but in an SPS tank it will blow around with all of your circulation. Special grade sand seems to be the popular choice. I just ordered some of that and it's still quite beautiful, but a larger grain. |

I wish stuck until last week of September maybe even October. Electrician comes Saturday to work and furniture will take 2-3 weeks to be completed. Plus the person helping me set everything up is tied up as well. Bummer but it will give me time to have everything arrive
