VorTech MP40 or MP60 pump for 260 gal tank?

Hi guys,

Which VorTech MP40 or MP60 is sufficient for 260 gal (24x30x84) predators tank? Going to setup 2 of them from each side. Based on the specification MP40 should be fine. Just wanted to double check.

Thanks

I have two mp40's on the back of a 150 reef, sure a fish only tank won't need that much, but for a 260 I would go with MP60's

MP60s without question.

If only using 2 on the sides I would go with mp60's, but I would prefer 4 mp40's either along the back wall or 2 on the back and 2 on the side. That is a long tank and the extra pumps would help keep it cleaner with the messy eaters.

Thanks. I'll think about it. It's interesting configuration, just a little expensive than MP60 more robust.

2 MP60 - 675x2 = 1350
4 MP40 - 349x4 = 1396

What type of substrate will it have?

60s would likely be my choice but with a 24inch depth they will blow sand around if it isn't coarse enough.
