Tibicen angel vs. Red Starfish
Hi,
I have a Tibecen angel that is continually picking at my red starfish. The starfish seems to be doing fine with no signs of damage and moving around as usual but I am wondering if anyone experienced this behavior before. Will the Tibicen kill the Starfish? It is also annoying as there is a continual popping/sucking sound as the Tibicen is attacking the starfish at the surface. I have recently reduced my feeding in order to try to resolve a hair algae problem (Nitrate is currently 1.5 ppm and phosphate 0.04). Still have the algae but don't want to be starving my fish and have them attack each other. My Tibicen also has a little of a personality disorder and is a little aggressive with the other inhabitants, especially new introductions. Thanks for any input Dave |

They (keyhole angels) have a rep for picking/nipping at corals and invertebrates. May be a sign that he misses those extra feedings you stopped.
