A Jebao DCP series pump and Bubble Magus Curve 7 series skimmer..

If you are handy then a 40breeder tank with some custom glass baffles makes a great sump.. If not check out the Trigger systems sumps

What are the tank dimensions? I have 6ft 150 gallon and a 40 gallon breeder would not fit under it so I went with a 30 gallon for a sump. Mine is not drilled so I used eshopps pf-1800 over flow box and a Jebao DCT 12000 pump along with a reef octo classic 150S skimmer. Ran this way for a year with no problems. Have since combined 2 tanks to a single sump in the basement.

Jabao return pumps are cheap enough you can run them in tandom turned down. If one dies, turn the other up to max till you get s replacement. Reef octopus skimmers with dc pumps are incredible.

I'm a fan of the Trigger Systems Ruby sumps. Straight forward. BRS has the 36 for an inexpensive price.

The hob overflow actually performs quite well with plenty of flow and has never had an issue. The tank was converted from a fresh water tank and has a rocky 3d background that I didn't feel like removing. Had I known I was going to get as involved in this hobby (or obsession as my Gal refers to it)as I have I probably would have drilled it but all of the inhabitants don't seem to mind the hob and its quiet also with a fabricated stand pipe.
