Using schedule 80 gate valve with schedule 40
I bought red schedule 40 from BRS and a grey schedule 80 slip 1" gate valve. The line I'm using this for is 3/4" Drain ( Herbie )
Can I use the schedule 80 gate valve with the schedule 40 inline?

Yes you can.. the difference is 80 is thicker then 40 and can handle more pressure. The inside diameters are both the same.

The OD is the same size, so u can mix schedule 80 & schedule 40. The ID on schedule 80 is smaller then schedule 40. So 80 is more restrictive. U get more flow with schedule 40.

The PVC weld is non-discrimonatory.
