Spotted "trees" ID help
Hello all, I noticed some little "trees" growing in my cycling tank today and wanted to see if anyone could help me identify them. I started the tank cycle about 20 days ago using live rock from my LFS and dry rock from marco rocks and some from BRS. The rock the "trees" are growing on did come from the LFS and I do not know where they originally came from.
They look pretty soft and flexible with a tan trunk and black spots on the "leaves". One grew up and hit another rock, continuing to grow sideways. have multiple now around the same area of the tank. My latest parameters are nitrate @ 8.0, Salinity at 1.025 and Ammonia 0. (anything else I should be testing besides PH which I don't have a test for yet). Oh, currently no lighting as my light has yet to ship The only light the tank receives is some from the door, which is pretty much all glass and my overhead fan light. 75 gallon tank with 30 gallon sump. Temperature stays around 78.4. Thanks! |
