OK, that was stupid on my part. I got slammed. lol But you all can't take them all and I want you all to post pics here if you get one. Since my tank isn't ready I will live thru you all. Anyway, I want to see what you get. I found this by accident after looking for about 6 months. I actually just tried to place an order for one and they called and said they are out of stock but are available thru one of their farms but do not normally order them as there is little demand. I'm pretty sure they would find that is not true. He said, just call their order number and order over the phone, they will check what is available and include it on the next order. I have not done this yet, but this is from what their employee told me. Use the link below and good luck!

I called them, they said they can't order them currently and to check back in the spring.

Nobody's exporting them, either cultivated or wild; so no way for anyone to have any - neither now nor in the Spring. I've had a couple of places tell me 'yes we can get them' but, of course, they cannot.

I have talked to every wholesaler in the LA area, they all have the same anwer. "none expected in the foreseeable future" None of the farms are currently growing gigas for several reasons.

I just found some clams at my LFS that might distract me from Gigas for a while. Purple Squamosa clams. Possibly the coolest clams I have ever seen. He has them on a great sale, might not be able to pass these guys up.

First.

Second you will probably find that squamosas grow fast and large enough.

Don't know if this will help any...But came across this just browsing around different sites. http://www.aquatictech.com/at_clams.html
They have gigas listed, marked as out of stock currently, but never know...They may have some sooner or later. Just thought i'd share.

EDIT:
I'll shoot them an email just cause im bored and see if they can/will get more in stock and i'll update this when i know.

I've called them before and it's "check back in a few months". I think they just leave it on their site to attract traffic.

I have had squamosa get to 18" without problem, maybe even a bit more than that.

I sure miss mine. Lost mine on the right about 4 years ago. Bought him when he was only 4 inches. Now the shell is 18 inches. Only took 4 years for that growth.
