factory reset

Any link available to download firmware to factory reset my apex? It is not accepting my password. Tried the default password and it is also not working.

tried loading the most current firmware while i put the apex in boot loader mode and it loads the firmware fine but then does not allow me to connect to the server when i try to update web pages.

Thanks

Using the display go to system or settings (I forgot which one and to an Init All. That will wipe out all programming data as well as calibration data and restore the Apex to factory default settings.

FYI.. Page 146 of the manual covers password recovery and resetting the Apex.

I should have mentioned that my display stopped working (3rd one) a few years ago. Looks like my only options are borrowing a display or getting firmware from Neptune to do the factory reset.

I don't think you need the display to do what slief mentions. If you log into your Apex locally, and go to 'Configuration' then 'Misc Setup', you'll find "Initialize Memory" at the bottom. If you select "Initialize All", I think this will do the same thing Slief is talking about.

That's the problem. I can't login in. Seems as though there is some type of software corruption that affected the password or login name.

Tried to telnet into the apex and also no luck on password.

Doi!...Forgot about that 'not being able to log in' part!

Contact Neptune Support. I believe they can either do it remotely or send you some type of "reinitialize file" to get you back in.

According to several users it can be done. Hopefully come Monday they will call or email. Not sure why the didn't try that or even mention it yesterday after several emails. Last email from Neptune said it would possibly have to be replaced then asked to confirm my serial number.
