For other products in the past, any sense as to how much time before final round of testers and public release?

Most recent AOS update for the 2016 apex included trident functionality/support - I’d imagine release of the unit is impending.

Got some info on this from an apex rep this past weekend at a local show. Its coming out soon (probably at MACNA) and will cost approximately 5-600. Monthly cost on the reagents is about $20 a month and thats at testing alk 4x a day and Mag and Ca at 2x a day.

Yeah, and if you are foolish enough to buy one off ebay = no warranty. There are a few initial reviews around.

Is there a main thread for the Trident on RC? I have been following on the other site because there is more vendor presence there, but doing some quick googling didn't find another thread here.
I ordered my Trident when BRS got some in stock yesterday afternoon, now I'm anxiously awaiting Friday delivery. I'm excited to finally have consistent simple reading of ALK (easy enough to test, though time consuming to test frequently), CA (a little more annoying to test, time consuming, and I've been over 500 for a number of months so will enjoy having regular testing to bring it down), and MAG (which I haven't tested in.... a looong time, so we'll see where that lands). Very excited. For those wondering the price, it's $599 for the main unit, it sounds like there will need to be a pump rebuild every 18-24 months for ~$100 DIY (or they'll do advance replacement of the unit for ~$200 and you send your unit back in the box from the other unit), and $22.50/month with the 2 month reagent kits that they're currently selling (2 months @ $45; they've indicated that they would sell 6 months supplies for less, so I'm hoping $100 instead of $135; It also won't be long before someone else starts selling reagents I'm sure). And yes, you need the most recent Apex 2016 head unit. It sounds like GHL will be coming out with their own CA/ALK/MG (or one of those) testing units soon, but the cost of entry is higher with the GHL kits, particularly if you're already in Apexland. |
