Peppermint Mushroom Problem

Many years ago when I first started my tank, a piece of coral had a peppermint mushroom on it. At the time it was fine, just a few little mushrooms in one spot. Now they blow around the tank and are not very attractive and kill some ricordia/yuma they come in contact with.

What is the best way to remote these guys? I have taken out rocks and cut them off, or tried scraping them. Can I spray them with something in the same way you do Aptasia or do I just have to try and pick them off one at a time.

Thanks
