Priming pot/ external pump
Is there a reason why people don't use priming pots with debris basket to catch snails and crabs from entering their external pumps? Reason I ask.... I'm setting up a new 220 gallon which will have a closed loop system on it. I have extra priming pots from an existing koi pond. Instead of drilling the back of the tank for a closed loop I was going to go over the top like Melev's Reef design on a larger scale. I want to incorporate the priming pot instead of having to add water like you would in his design to get the air out of the line. Am I missing something or should this work?
