Why is my cap growing like this?

Hi all. I’ve had this cap for a few months now and it keeps growing down and not upward in the spiraling way I wanted. Any specific reason for this? Did I get the wrong kind? ThanksIMG_8326.jpg

Flow and too much lighting seems to be common recommendations why some montis grown down..
Others seem to state its size/age as they will start off growing down then after a while start to curl back up/spiral..

Got PAR numbers?
Where is it in relation to the flow/powerheads in the tank?
