Can I glue the airline to my skimmer pump?

My skimmer comes with a clear nipple piece to add the air tube to that feeds to the pump. A replacement pump does not replace this. When I was cleaning the skimmer before adding it to my new tank I accidentally snapped it off. I emailed the company asking if they sell the piece that the nipple broke off of and I’m awaiting their response.

Pooryl located design. You might have to buy more than it's worth.
Yes you can glue it back, if the glue holds. Try Crazy glue.

I've had that problem and crazy glue works, or the tiniest bit of marine epoxy. With luck you can find a coffee straw that will fit and make gluing a bit easier.

Could you explain how you used the coffee straw?

If glue doesn't hold, can you tap it and screw in a barbed fitting? These may be the replacement part:

IF the nipple was straight instead of an elbow you would use it to line up the 2 pieces.
You could still do it by taking off the venturi & after gluing pull it from the inside with needle nose pliers. More difficult but possible.

I found one that fit just inside my old Euroreef; part of the (cut to size) straw was glued inside the air intake, allowed to dry, then the upper part was glued on.

It looks like you could drill and glue a small piece of rigid air line tubing in it and then reattach the connector. Or You could drill and tap for a quick release fitting. Just get a little creative. Should be an easy fix.

I'd drill it out to the tubing size and just insert the tube a bit. If you want to be sure it stays silicone around the outside of the tubing with reef safe silicone

I used super glue and taped it to hold. I was considering using epoxy on the outside for the seal. Do you know if this is reef safe once cured?

Just use reef safe silicone. That will hold it.

Marine epoxy is reef safe.
