Thanks spoon671!!! Those are awesome pics. I'm definately getting some of those micron pads. Unfortunately, they're on back order until 7/15.

Sean, you have one of Scott's calcium reactors your setting up too? I just got mine setup today with the new regulator and controlller and it is pretty sweet. Taking him the lid this weekend to drill it so I can drop the probe right in the chamber instead of having to flow the effluent into a cup.
Cant wait to see the tank! |

Nope, I didn't get a reactor from Scott. But, I'm certain that his will be top notch. Good luck setting everything up.

What about cleaning the bags? How and how often?

awesome tank, i have been following both threads for a long time and i am totally impressed by your stand. I think i might go for a similar stand only on a smaller scale (24 inch cube).
I think i am completely retarted because i have been trying to figure it out all evening and haven't had any luck....what is the OM website?

sonofgaladriel,
This is an amazing setup. Thanks for sharing it with us. Will subscribe to this now to see how you get on. Have a question if you do not mind. I am interested in the light that you have in the sump. Where did it come from and I am desperately looking for some. Thanks Steve |

Are you running SE or DE halides? I forgot...
I'm in the process of switching my SE over to DE, order 2 @ dual 400w Sunlight Supply Blue Wave ballast and have pendants that I'm going to setup. I figure 4 @ 400w DE halides should be more then enough light to get buy. |

I'm running 4 250 watt DE's with 4 48" T5 actinics via the Oceanlight pendants. I wish I had been able to find 400 watt DE pendants with built in T5's but couldn't find any.

Yeah they are hard to find, I was looking for some halides w/build in T5's a while back and came up empty handed so I improvised. Just run 2 atinics on an IceCap 660, hopefully when the new hood is built I will still have room for the atinics since 4 MH pendants in there will be a little crowded on a 50" long tank

As for the pads that I use, I replace them every 2 days or so. I don't even wash them. Hope this helps.

Any updates on how the tank is doing? Let me know when you get those diatom bags and how you get them setup, I'm curious to see.

Here are some links that will help you get an idea of what he builds and how to get ahold of him. Several of our local fishheads members have purchased many different types of reef equipment from Scott and everyone has been super satisfied. My tank and skimmer both came from Scott. I won't hesitate to buy from him again. http://www.fishheads.org/viewtopic.php?t=3084 http://www.fishheads.org/viewtopic.php?t=4678

I bought a custom 40g sump from him which I love, my calcium reactor, my sms122 pH controller, a ma957 regulator and a 24"x24"x24" cube tank from him. He really takes care of his customers and has extremely competitive prices.
Here is a pic of his ca reactors: His new website is up I think, www.aquaticsystemsdesign.com He also does kalk reactors, protein skimmers and just about anything you could ever want. I highly recommend him to anybody. My ca reactor has been up and running for a week or so now and everything is going great, very easy to dial in! |

Any new pics?
Hows that skimmer working for you, pulling some nasty skimmate? Mine should be completed by next week. What feed pump are you using? |
