I have a in sump pump. mag 12 I believe. With no lights on the temp has been running at 79 for two days. I have a chiller but I have never use a mag pump. Is this normal to how high heat from the pump. I have a quiet one on my 75 gal. It not as large as the mag 12. So is there a large pump equal to the mag 12 that don't put out high heat.

Yeah, the bigger you go the bigger the pump and more heat is generated.
That's why I have my returns external. You can run a Quiet One external btw.
You drill the sump, place a bulkhead and plumb it up.
I have mine like this on the 60

A little update. Come home and the brown dust that is all of the glass. It is about half of what it is normally. I wipe it off and it stayed off for several hours. The water is getting very clear. It is day 19.

Day 39 and I think I have dino's. I added two new tank mates. Snowflake clowns. They have been hosting a GBTA but it is not going in this tank. Would it look bad to put a frogspawn or large rock of hairy mushrooms in there for them. They will host it.
