You know what's funny? I always wondered how my corals would do while I'm doing water changes because the corals are out of the water for a while. But after seeing some of the corals and anemones after low tide, I'm not too concerned!

To be honest, there isn't much of a smell out there when the tide is out, you'd think there would be with all that coral around, plus yesterday was a pretty hot day.

Yeah they are my fav, we kinda stumbled across them when when we first started exploring the reef, as you can see in the photos, the reef is pretty flat, so it's quiet easy to walk past a pool and miss something.

Might be a month or so for the next updates. We have been informed about another location which is apparently covered with corals and might try to find it.
Other than that the low tides will now turn around to the nights (around midnight). So when they come round we will be targeting Margined Butterflies (Well Azumi mainly). Fish are so easy to catch when they are asleep.

Also for you Octoshark I will endeavour to take some photos of some larger octopus for you. On our last night trip we saw several larger ones. They must come out hunting crabs.

Killer thread! I was lucky enough to have visited your country twice, the second time I backpacked the whole east coast for 7 months. I never made it out to the west, but I WILL someday! Beautiful pictures, and of course amazing people in Au.

Any pics of the mantis you keep? Is it from locate waters as well? I have a peacock (Fedor!) and he is a blast to have, and esp feed!!

I'll try to get a pic of him. He is a dark green with orange claws. Living in a small refugium which I built for him. But these days is over run with macro.

It all depends on how accessable the foot is. As you all know as soon as you touch the anemone it will retract. If it is in the rocks you can sometimes break away the surrounding rock to get to it.

But since there is no water around. The whole area gets all muddy. Don't know how the collectors do it.

The blue sponge was definitely out of the water. Some orange ones as well.

No idea what the fluorescent blue thing was. Spectacular though.

No. We only get the brown and the fluoro green ones. Mate has collected a frogspawn once as well.
