Aptasia Questions

ok so i have that stuff that gets rid of aptasias..so i barelt have any in my tank..but i did just buy a coral that had 2 on it so i decidied to keep them on it just cuz i think they look cool and it adds to the hole aquarium effect and iunno **** it ok i like them i think they look cool lol...well the one that i have is on arock covered in daisy polyps it also has 2 red shrooms 4 blasto heads and some brown lookin polyps...well i just wanted to know if the aptasia could sting anything and kill it...it has been moving all over the rock...and it doesnt seem to bother anything...so my first question is...can they sting my other corals and kill them...my 2nd question is last night when i was feeding i looked in the stalk of the aptasia and noticed it had about 8 mysis shrimp in it...im guessin he found a good spot to stay cuz he got filled up with food...does this mean he is gonna get jumbo sized??? lol

Yeah they will sting corals just like any other anemone. If they aren't taken care of the can get out of control. I have heard of aiptasia that are large enough to host clowns!!! Look at the thread at the top of this forum by Khaosinc. On page 36 of his thread there is a GIGANTIC aiptasia in his tank.

I have used aptesia x several times, but like joes juice they do grow back.. i have had sucess keeping them under controll with these but very difficult to irradicate.

They'll sting everything.

At first, I thought they were cool too. Eventually, every square inch of rock, all 150lbs of it, was covered with aiptasia. It wasn't so neat then.

Kill it while you still can.
