Couldn't tell you. I can look tomorrow.
Kessil said it would be compatible but that it might take a bit before they get it to be.
If not, I'll have 2 AP700 for sale.

Kessil AP 700 Owners Gather Here!

The software would have to be able to do API calls on the network. Which I doubt since there hasn't been any os changes in Apex. I preorder my cerrebra for this reason. Ready to jump ship.

Are they not able to make API calls due to the OS?
ABI calls?

I don't really need it to be Apex controllable. I do wish it was cloud based though.

No. I have a combo T5/ap700
I run 3 down the center. One for each section
And 2- 5 foot 4 bulb ati's on the front and back.

I used the hanging mounts. I have a sliding rack in the canopy to glide them out for service.

I have no doubt front to back solo is fine. I have seen it myself.
I am going mostly sps and lps. I want max coverage with the ati's and
Metal halide like qualities with controllable spectrums and shimmer!

16 years of metal halide's. It was time to take the plunge and try newer tech.

I wanted to share my program in hope that we can combine resources and experience to enhance the use of this great light. Kessil is pushing the edge of this technology and with anything at the edge there is a risk of a fall if you are not careful. However we can assist each other and give new comers a head start. We will lay the path for others to follow or learn what not to do, lol.

My lights have been installed for 3 months, started at only 40% intensity. I plan to increase intensity to 90% at some point. However right now the corals are doing great! Polyp extension, growth, and color are well.

Personally I like the color, coverage, spectrum, and spread with these far better than the 360s I had before.

The AP700 will not be APEX compatible. I am curious though, why would that be important? The app may not be perfected yet, however it still gives you the functionality that the APEX could give you. It's built in WIFI allows direct connection or through your router via your mobile device.

It's the whole thing about having a lot of money into a controls system. I just want one platform to control it all. I don't want to have multiple things going on.

Do you have any proof that it won't be compatible?

Kessil has said it would be but it wouldn't happen upon release and the last I had heard there stance was the same. While waiting a bit is fine, I will sell the 2 I have if they don't hold up to their promise.

So honestly, how often would you need Apex to 'control' the lighting? Lights are usually a set n forget item. You can have power bricks on the EB8 if you want the temp cutoff. Only thing I can think of is seasonal sunrise/sunset/moon phase. I'm not sure if the app already have that.

Other than that, it's not like there is another control box that you have to physically install somewhere (which if the AP700 is to be Apex compatible, it may be something you have to buy and install).

No, you are right. They do plan to have some link with the apex

It's one of the things I made sure of before I bought mine.
Might sound weird to some but I like to sweat the details and have all the functions and such be controlled by one system.
Oh BTW, I work for a huge controls company

I have a question for you AP700 owners. The specs say the fixture is 20" long, I want to know how far the "pucks" are from one another. To be exact, how many inches in from the ends of the fixture do they start and how many inches apart are they from each other? Thanks in advance.

OK, thanks. That would put them roughly 4" in from the ends of the fixture.
