Temporary RODI shut off

Just installed my filter and totally forgot to pick up a float valve or ASOV. I have a manual valve I can put in to stop the water for now. I’m assuming it would be best to just shut off the feed line, correct?

Yes that will work. Many people run them from garden hoses.
