Advice on tank building

Regarding the glass. My aquarium will be 48"Lx24"Wx30"T. What thickness of glass should I use? Would 12mm be overkill? Also will euro bracing be necessary? This is my first build and I want to make sure it's done right but obviously dont want to spend more than I need to.

I would go with 1/2" glass. If it is done correctly, you could do a frameless. Watch some tank build videos on youtube before you decide. I dont really like frameless tanks because it limits the fish you can have. Lots of jumpers out there. Also later it can make adding a top difficult or just plain ugly if you change your mind.
