Jumpers?

Just picked up a pair of Flurry Clownfish... are clownfish typically jumpers? I have an open top cube.

I had a young Maroon jump. Was shortly after moving his tank so he was stressed, but the clown tank now has a screen.

I don't have a lot of experience with clowns, so not sure how unusual that experience was.

Do you have an anemone that is hosting the clowns? If so, you should be fine because if the clowns get scared they'll swim into the anemone. If you don't there is a chance that they could jump, so a cover would be good.

I've had a couple Ocellaris Clownfish jump over the years, but I wouldn't consider Clownfish in general to be a jumping threat though, much like a Firefish would be.

I didn't pick up an anemone yet. They didn't have anything I really wanted....i'm thinking of a Sebae Anemone. My tank is a 34g solana so I want the Sebae Anemone to stay in the sand

There are 2 types called sebae, crispa which get huge, or malu which stay smallish, 8-10" usually, and can have much brighter colors, and low lying in sand bed.
For that size tank that would be my suggestion

All fish are potential jumpers, but clowns in particular being "nesting" type fish are not really known for it, but sometimes happens

My small Flurry Clowns are swimming all over the tank sometimes at the top of the water column. They don't really have anything to "nest in" yet

My Clarkiis live here and in the caves nearby. They seem fine with the substitution. They do seem to dart straight for "home" when I spook them so I could probably get away with taking the eggcrate off, but they're a wild caught pair and I just don't want to risk it.

My 10 year old clownfish jumped out one day for perhaps 30 minutes. I thought she was dead until i saw its mouth move. Placed her back in and had a full recovery! I place acrylic mesh over the tank ever since that incident.
