My new tank/cabinet from Mermaid Aquarium

Here it is:

Everything went pretty smoothly. They came, took down my old 240 and put up this new AGA 210 in one day. A little tweaking to be done still but, all in all it's been great. I went the full service route this time rather than spending months doing it myself.

Here's a picture of the left side where most of the equipment is:

More pictures in my Gallery.

Wow Mona, that would not work in my house, it looks too nice! Where's the pine boards?? Where's the ghetto curtains to hide the lights?? Nope definately not a good stand for my house

I'm sure it probably fits in perfectly in your place though

The tank looks amazing, nice work once again. I like the mix of coral types, almost 2 tanks in one. You were kidding either about your new skimmer. Impressive.

Your tank looks better then the last time I seen it. The skimmer looks smaller in the picture.

The pictures don't do it justice! I saw it in person. It's very, very nice!
I'm jealous too.

Congrats Mona,

It looks great and even better in person.

You sure have a lot of room to fill up!!! That is the best part though isn't it?

Your starboard bottom has convinced me to try one out on my next tank.

I don't want to say how much except that all the gear was very competitive to internet prices with tax and shipping. To me, it was pricey but worth it. There were six guys here to do the big switch. They took care to protect my hardwood floors. Taking down my 240 with a 3-4" sand bed, moving all the rocks and animals out and putting it all back into my new tank was a job I didn't want to do. They did it all in one day.

I'll post pictures later of the pipe, gear, lighting, special switches, bevel cut starboard, etc.

Thanks all for the nice words. It really does look very nice.

Full cabinet shot. Only the first metal halide is on:

I'm running PFO ballasts to power 3x400 watt 20K XM bulbs. Icecap Dual ballast for Hamilton SuperBlue Actinics, 2xTunze Stream 6100's with Controller, 2xPenPlex back-up Airpumps, Stealth fans will replace the remaining 110 volt fans.

Outlets controlled by switches on the right side under tank cabinet:

AquacontrollerII. The cord was too short from the top of the cabinet to mount this better:

Eheim 1262 is my return pump. The Kill-o-watt meter says it is only drawing 50 watts. Just enough water to feed the skimmer. Circulation for the tank is taken care of by the Tunze Streams.

Right side of cabinet. TruVu Refugium/sump. Ten Gallon for new salt water mixing container. I've already junked up the cabinet with clutter. Lifereef float switch controls a solenoid for the RO line. The RO line has a valve so water is added slowly thus taking awhile to overflow if the float switch fails. There is a second float switch that closes the solenoid incase of high water in the sump:

Starboard is starting to turn purple. Mermaid beveled the bottom edge so that the top sits right up next to the glass and the bottom does not touch the silicone. A bead of silicone was run underneath the starboard to keep funk out:

Anemone land on the right. The Nepthea looks great with the Roses:

Closer shot of Anemones with Maureen's Green BTA:

Sponge Bob is back at work. I'm going to do a display similar to what Eddie had at TP. I'll see if these SI Percs form a family unit, divide up in pairs, or whatever... as long as they play nice.

Close up of babies on day 24:

Thanks for looking.
