MP40 question
I'm looking at trading some corals for a used MP40. The guy said it's making some noise but works fine, and thinks the wetside will need to be replaced soon. If the wet side is going bad, how likely is it that the dry side will go out and need replaced fairly soon?

Highly unlikely. Wet side go bad withen 2 years if you do not do regular maintenance.
As long as the power head work the dry side is good. Vortech is solid pump. Just change the wet side and maintain it regularly. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk |

Maybe it's just me but the older mp40s were good. I bought one 18 months ago (a QD) and I've gone through 2 power supplies. They used to be Ecotech branded power supplies but now they are "Golden Profit" brand and they suck. My $60 jaebo pump is outlasting $400 pump.
My current power supply is making a buzzing noise so time is almost up on this one. I'm going to look aftermarket Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
