220 mixed reef
Finally setting this baby up. The much more relaxed reef from its bigger sibling. Went with black sand. All dry as far as LR is concerned. Maybe not so much so as you will see. Anyhow it’s a 220 or so gallon aquarium. Eshops 300 sump with a Nyos 220 which is going nuts at the moment lol. No rush on this system although it’s inhabitants have been preselected. Lighting will be powered by 2 Radion xp30 pros and 2 XP 15s. Tank measures 72”L X 30”W X 24” H. These should be great measurements for SPS. Return is powered by a Vectra M1. There is a additional M1 which will power a manifold for the chiller and reactors. Inside their are 3 MP 40 and a gyre 250 for random water flow. Got a couple of marine blocks inside the sump for additional bacterial filtration.

No - but they are pretty. My daughter has an African Grey and I think it is loud. Makes me laugh a lot but I can only imagine what a pair of those Macaws must sound like when they start to chatter. I mean it in a good way of course.
Tank is also coming along. Keep up the good work.

Tank rescue 101! He made it now got a trio of midnights. Oh and the ick thing :-( came back from my vaca and dogface is covered in ick yet eating. A few others got it too but everyone’s eating amd stress levels are down. This of course will delay the bandits from coming home again :-( Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Did you quarantine your fish before adding them? If not that’s where that ick thing came from

Ick likely came in from my other tank. :-( hit the puffer first but the temp was low. Added a heater. Left on vaca. Came back from Xmas vacation and puffer was covered in spots. He had it two three days in. The rest is history :-/
