Good snail or not?
Please help me identify this guy before I move him into my display tank. He came with a full tank purchase. I don't want anything that will eat my corals or other tank inhabitants or harm me!

It shouldn't be harmful. It does look a lot like N. olivaceus, although the lip profile is a little odd. Maybe subadult.

But I also don't want them to starve to death. I guess I have 2 nassariuses and 1 fighting conch (I think. Has the switchblade foot if that matters). Also, best snail to live in quarantine/frag tank? It's definitely a harmless Nassarius, although I'm not 100% certain which species. Neither conchs nor Nassarius absolutely require a sandbed, although most nassarius species do burrow in the sand. Several conch species actually live in coral rubble areas with no sand, but the smaller species normally seen in the aquarium trade usually prefer muddy sand areas (Conomurex luhuanus, the "Tiger Conch" of aquarium suppliers), or clean sand with some vegetation (Florida Fighting Conch, Humpback Conch, and others).
