Zoa or paly
Picked up this small frag from lfs, cost £5. Was just wondering if its zoa or paly or if it makes any difference? Is doing nicely and am hoping it will grow and spread.

I'm not 100 percent certain, but it looks like a green palyzoa to me.

Palys generally have a noticeable feeding response to particulate type coral foods in iwhich they will close up on this food. Zoos generally display no feeding response, as if that same food is not there.
Palys generally have a longer stalk in contrast to the zoos which are short. Palys can include substrate in their stalks. Beware of palys, if not handled with great care you can severely poison yourself. Use glasses and gloves if handled. Based on the pic, I agree with the above post as Paly. |

Poly. They spread like wild fire. Don’t recommend keeping them. It will kill any non softy corals by smothering them.

Doubt id be jumping up & down with joy at the idea of allowing that to spread in my tanks.......Might wanna reconsider that. Very invasive toxic species.

Have repositioned it now, up against a standalone rock so it can't get to others.

Green paly. They grow pretty fast. In 8 months, my one polyp is now 9.
