Yellow Longnose Butterflyfish (Forcipiger flavissimus)

I found one of these in a LFS about 2" minus snout, I haven't seen one offered for sale in ages. I have bought it and it is swimming happily in my tank. It is a stunning little fish.

The question- I have enough room, the tank is 2000L, for another. Has anyone kept more than one in a tank, are the peaceful (I know Copperbands aren't). Could I add another (assuming I can find one) without too much hassle.

Nice and spacious fishtank. I bet it looks wonderful! I'd assume you could keep a pair if a larger individual shows up, but who knows.

Thank you. That's the problem I don't know how feisty and territorial they are, according to my research they live in 'pairs or small groups'. As there are no external sexual differences and they, in my understanding, they are born either male or female, to add another one would be a risk.

Also the 'small groups' statement could just be a group of juveniles newly arrived on the reef, I understand they have a long larval stage and are about 2" before they settle on a reef and the group could be fish before they scatter to find a territory.

I don't want to buy more if they are just going to fight.

Can you give me a bit more info please. Were they added at the same time. What size are the fish. What size is your tank. How long have they been together. do they swim as a pair or just inhabit the same tank, how much do they interact.

and anything else you can think of
