Do Kenya Leather Tree Coral help filter the water and keep it clean

Do they have a sizable impact on helping with nitrates or phosphate levels in the water?

I doubt it.. You would have to be harvesting a ton of these corals to really see any results IMO. This could also end up being more trouble than it's worth too. Pass.

Probably. Kenya tree corals like other photosynthetic corals host algae that take up nitrates and phosphates. Since they tend to grow rapidly that implies a rapid uptake...

in a word, no. Kenya's are no different than other softies. I have a tank full of softies and while I don't have nitrates I am fighting with phosphates.

You don't actually have to harvest any corals for them to fix nitrogen. You only have to harvest to export.

As to one's individual experience with a coral I don't believe that demonstrates a lack of nitrogen fixing capacity. I mean photosynthesis requires it.

What's the point though? Couldn't you just skip this process altogether and still see the same results? Don't work TOO hard...
