Triangle DIY corner tank
Could anyone point me in the direction of a calculator to figure the size of a custom corner tank? I can't get the site search function to work, So I need some help. I want a larger tank to fit into a bedroom corner, so 90 degree corner against the walls and a 45 degree faceing the room.
Can anyone help? Thanks, Jade nitrotmann@yahoo.com |

don't they teach basic geometry in school anymore?
What kind of scares me is that your occupation is listed as a drafter. Key tools in your arsenal are triangles... |

no, key tools are from autodesk, the makers of autocad...and that scares me, lol
I haven't had to mess with triangles for over 15 yrs. I never was great in math or geometry, but luckily thats not often called upon in my job. |

Just like I have never had to actually use any math beyond arithmetics for my job ever..... And they require some hardcore math classes in college for computer science.... Go figure.

The other way to do it (the hard way) is to take length*width*height and divide by 213. I don't know if it works for triangle tanks, but I know it does for rectangles.
I'd imagine you take the above equasion and Quote:

Juat a stab in the dark here...
but does ring a bell? Next question, do you know how to calculate the length of the hypotenuse, or do you just use the dimension tool in Acad? |

I can handle math and be manly at the same time. Infact, I have so much manliness and hair that i once went in to work for three months without a shirt and no one noticed, my primary source of transportation is by bull and, I digest things telekinetically.
I'm so manly that i use hippies as firewood. I'm so manly that when i kick some one in the colon, their children's colons and so do the children's children's colon. even though they're not brought into this world yet. by me i might add. I'm so virile that my favorite food is whiskey. I'm so manly that when people look into my eyes they spontaniously combust. You guys catch my drift? How much manliness do you have? |

cubic inch per gallon in the search form and google figures out the answer for you: They give: 1 US gallon = 231.000001 cubic inch It works for equations too: 2 + 2 2 + 2 = 4

Let's say your tank is 24" x 24" (two short sides) and 18 inches high:
I typed in the following to google search: (24 * 24 * 18) / (gallons per cubic inch) / 2 and got: ((24 * 24 * 18) / (US gallons per (cubic inch))) / 2 = 22.4415583
