6255 Impeller

Hi Roger:

I have a 6255 pump that won't spin. When the power is on, the impeller/jumps', but won't keep spinning. Does it need a new impeller? Also, the base that connects to the magnet has 2 small inserting clips that broke. Is it possible to order 2 more bases?

TIA

Is the metal shaft the impeller spins on still firmly fixed in the motor? The shaft is a permanent part of the motor and the impeller assembly spins on it.

It is generally possible to get the base, part 6065.510, but I am out of them, I only have the complete clamps 6255.650.

I did notice the shaft was slightly leaning a bit....not straight. Should I try to straighten?

And will you get more bases? Or will I have to order the whole clamp? Prices?

Upon looking at pump closely, the shaft has a little 'play' where it will lean. When I stick the impeller onto the shaft, the impeller magnet will lean to the inside edge of the space. I carefully tried to straighten the shaft, and the impeller would spin for a sec. But when it stops, it can't restart.

Also looking for the 'base' that the clamp attaches to. Thanks for your help.

It sounds like the shaft is dislodged which tends to be a terminal failure unless it can be firmly reseated and the seat is undamaged, with the play it can stick to the side wall and seize. Typically repair requires replacing the motor. How old is this pump?

The base plate I expect back in stock in late September, they are $5.79, the complete clamp is in stock and is 19.29

Pump is at least 4 years old. It had been repaired before....sent into you (Tunze). What would the cost be?
