Oh boy...woke up this morning to find one of the clowns laying down on his/her side in the sand in the far back corner. I thought he/she was a goner. I quickly looked up 'clownfish laying down on side' and saw that some like to sleep like that.
I went to work out and by the time I came home the lights were on and I was expecting the worst. I came home to two swimming clowns that appear to be pretty happy. I will say the one that was laying down is swimming a bit more erratically than the other. Going to keep a close eye on him/her. I have a security camera that I can log into on my phone so I think I'm going to set it up near the tank so I can watch them during the day. I swear this is just like having a new born child. UGHGHGHGH. lol |

Get a Candy Cane Pistol Shrimp for your Yasha and you will see it way more often! I recommend the Candy Cane over a Tiger as the Yasha doesn't get larger than 4" so they will compliment each other.

Yes I am actually planning on getting one... They only had a yellow pistol shrimp at the store and quite honestly I just didn't like it to me it looks like a scorpion and scorpions or not cute in my opinion. I will be patient and wait for a nice candy cane one.

Good news...YaYa is not dead! I haven't seen her(?) since releasing her about 5 days ago. Well this morning guess who pops her little head out of her hole looking for food? I made sure to get some of the food down near where I saw her and she actually ate some...whew What a relief. Eventually when I get her a buddy pistol shrimp I will release him near her and hopefully they will pair up.
Tank is doing good...now have a green algae growing but from what I can tell from my research this is pretty normal. This weekend I will be cleaning the tank and trying to affix the corals to their 'permanent' spots. Then I plan on letting it be for awhile and letting it mature and even out. Well it's my pocket book that is really determining this which is a good thing. |

Just a little update...had my first casualty recently. My little yasha goby "YaYa" has died. I believe it was due to the algae and then bacteria bloom (cloudy water) that did her in. She was really doing great, would come out and check things out, was eating well, etc. Then a few days ago I saw her 'panting' a bit and then I came home to her dead. Everyone else seems to be doing just fine. The water is starting to clear up and the corals are doing well.
I got my dosing 'stuff' from BRS and now tested and dosed my tank for cal, alk and mag. Maybe that will help even things out. Loving the tank, I could literally watch it all day long. I think my dog is jealous. |

That's definitely a bacterial bloom
If you have some fresh carbon I'd use it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I changed out the chemi pure and the purigen and seems to be getting better by the day. I dosed my cal, alk and mag and now are in good ranges. I think in a few days I will have a nice clear tank.
