Unhappy Could my fish be scared?

So I found my lunar wrasse fish that was missing and I found him in the back of the tank. He still alive thank gosh! But could he be scared is that why he was hiding? He seems like he wants to go back in there because he keeps going by the part where he could jump in there is no other harmless fish. So I'm not sure if he's afraid.

I had a melanarus wrasse that would jump into a floating basket of my old frag tank (had some dragons breath macro in it) every night and jump out in the morning. They like to hole up for the night, so it could be that's what it's trying to do, but it sounds like it's getting stuck there. I'd get a cover for that and a cover for your tank if you don't already have one.
