Do I need to frag this colony to save it?
I got this Fiji acropora colony one month ago. It recently started to bleach from the trunk up. I would guess 10% is now absolutely white. The image does not show it well, but you get the idea.
Should I frag it into pieces to save it? |

I would make sure it’s getting plenty of flow through the bottom but if I progresses anymore then I would say go ahead and frag it.

I have done it. I now have one larger piece and 10 smaller frags. I have not planned to be in a frag business so soon.
Let's see if any of them survive. :-) |

You did the right thing. Hopefully you caught it soon enough.
Sometimes it is still too late. It is good that you have a bunch of small frags. Those should be good. I've also had really good luck glueing over the dying parts (after cutting). |
