So many inspiring tanks, so little space.... Beautiful, that wall is great, looks like a lava flow. And the way it fits right in with the chair, what a place to sit and have a beer! Or coffee at this time of the morning, ha!
I have a spare 75 RR sitting around, I'm thinking if I could do a poor man's version of this by building a framework inside part of the tank? It wouldn't have to be dry or anything, the view of the "cave" could be blocked with the frame of the stand... Maybe a door on it so you could check up on it... I suppose larger critters should be blocked from getting in with some sort of screen.... Hmmmm... Might just try that when done with my current build. Again, amazing and inspiring. ps, when I first looked at that pic a couple posts up, I thought "how the heck does he keep that big bleedin' mantis in there with all that stuff?" Feeder clip I think on closer look, ha! |

Approximately how long did it take for your mangroves to reach that size in your first tank posted?

Wow! Just saw your tank and thread. I am impressed. The picture of the fish hanging out over the drop off is amazing. Brings me back to some of the wall diving I used to do off Turks and Caicos and that "floating" feeling you get. Your tank captures that well. Gave me goose bumps.
Now from a practical standpoint... what is it like for maintenance in the drop off area, are you able to reach completely down without submerging your head? Anything you would do differently thus far? |

hi huse!
thanks for the kind words! i´m pretty tall so i can reach down without my shoulder getting wet. i would definitely use a closed loop for the water movement in the drop down area! vortech are working fine, but due to the iron stand the magnetism is sometimes interfering with the connection of the two sides... i hope i have the time today to take some new pictures today... had real bad luck the past view weeks... most of my fish died due to flukes with came from the leucosternon... 4-5 fish are still alive, but that were some sad times... fish i kept for years... and because of the dying the water parameters aren´t that good, so the corals lost some color, but I lost non, that´s what´s with all the acans in my tank is the most important thing right now Cheers

sorry to hear about your fishes. powder blues tend to bring along diseases don't they. That and the achilles. The group of anthias looks good in the drop off. I hope you'd be able to restock a group soon, after the tank's fluke-clear of course.
