Green Starburst Polyp question

1. this is the right board I hope?

2. I have a small frag will it close up nightly? Just got it yesterday and it closed at night so was unsure if it was just a new to tank thing or nightly occurrence.

awesome that was the daydream- my lfs has another rock in a put together 10 gallon package that is covered. I love how it glows in the blue light

LFS called this Sea Mat I think.

Is there another name for it? Will it grow like crazy?

My clown was a little jealous I would take a picture of something else.

Other additions I think eagle eye zoa, some zoa just calling it green, and a button polyp.

And a clown that has to get in the pic with the green zoa.

Growing in pretty well- I think I have finally start getting water quality down and consistent GSP is really going to start taking off

You have some good growth on the GSP rock. You'll be needing to frag that by Thanksgiving. Good job, Keep it up. You might want to find a flat piece of rock to lay on the bottom and start growing it on that too. In a few months it will look like a field of wheat.

I am toying with how much GSP I really want. I actually really like it.

I have a circle in green super high flow area I was thinking of letting it take over. I want the top flat rock to be zoa garden.

The red circle was called sea mat when sold to me, but I actually think it is just another type of GSP. It has a tan mat though. I actually really like it to might get some of it to on the other side. It start out on a little flat square frag disk and is now double. If I get GSP on the two base rocks I might let my GSP rock fill in and then try to find another hobbyist to enjoy it.

Interested in any suggestions on setup / aquascape

I love your aqua-scaping. The caves look perfect. It is funny how some corals will do great in a tank and another type I can't seem to get going. That has been my experience anyway. If GSP do well in your tank, take advantage of it and and experiment with different color forms. I have the light green and a bright, almost neon green color form. The bright color form has longer polyps. I have seen a bright yellow form in a store display that I would love to get my hands on. My only recommendation would be to grow some zoas deeper in the tank as well as up top and more GSP up on the flat rock. In my tank under LED my GSP do better under brighter light then my Zoas. You might find you get quicker growth and better polyp extensions lower near your caves. Let your corals tell you where they want to be based on flow and light, and work your art around their needs. Looks like you have may already have a Torch or Duncan down on the bottom. Can't see in photo. If not consider it. They would make for a great eye piece of eye candy.

tons- I like to see the burst of the power head makes these flows. It looks like I am beating them up, and they love it. Will try and get video.

Yep I have a duncan- It was adding a few heads on the frag I got, and this weekend I see a new one popping. It isn't the best color, but it has great flowing tentacles? compared to others I have seen. I also have some hammers. I might get another palythoa for that area between my flat rock, and the rock with the sickly galaxea- I bought it that way. The rock I am talking about getting more GSP I popped in galaxea tiny frag (might have been too impulse bc those are slow growers I hear). It looks like a tiny torch almost I am wondering if I have what I think I have there.

I like the zoa idea maybe more headed into the cave where the flow isn't so strong. It looks like a tiny torch almost I am wondering if I have what I think I have there. On the single rock to the right I have the nuc green palythoa and a hammer. The palythoa went from 2 to 13 as of yesterday. Wasn't that excited when I got it, but I love how they move on their own. They left the frag they came on so I just pulled it lol.

Hey, those GSP have covered that rock nicely. You may want to lay a bare flat rock next to it to get the GSP to spead onto it. Then after a few months use a blade and separate your new colony. Nice tank.
