What bulbs did you end up going with? I'll need new lamps in a few months and was concidering ushio 14k's, but am concerned it will also be to blue with the 03's.

I went with 10k Reeflux bulbs after seeing smcoolers tank. I used one of the 250 14k's for the middle lamp and used 10k's on the outside, finally have the color I was looking for. The 14k's were too blue for me using actinics with them. They are not close to 20k's using the actinics, but I was looking for a bright tank that didn't wash out the color. I was surprised to find that using the 14k in the middle blended perfectly. I expected it to look blue in the middle of the tank and lighter on the sides. But color is very even.

Hey Richie, the bulbs are used. They were only used for a short while, don't know exactly how long but not more then a few months.
