Add or replace sand

I have a 90gl reef adn used a fine grade of sand but i am afraid it is too light as my pump is kicking it up even at a 10% setting. Can I add a heavier on top of it or do i need to replace it.

Thanks

If yoy add sand on top itll smother your biological filter on your current sand bed and kill it off.. causing ammonia and aenerobic conditions.

I did that once and i killed my flame hawk not knowing i had ammonia in the tank.

If you do put more sand it.. mix your ssnd together so you dont kill yours
