My euphyllia like a moderate indirect flow, Where their hit by a powerhead but maybe after the flow is difused by some rock or is deflected off the glass. They seem to react the best in lower to mid light depending on your fixture etc. I would personally start a new piece directly on the sand bed in a mid flow area. If it opens and is doing well after a week or so move it up closer to the light or if you want just leave it on the bed. Many people including myself have had euphyllia do well never leaving the sand bed. They do not seem to like shaded areas and will grow out twords the light if placed in a partially shaded spot. My euphyllia are all in the lower 1/3 of my setup.

Mine also likes moderate flow. It has been on sand bed since it was put in tank and has grown like a weed. It started as 1 head a little over a year ago and now has approx. 50 heads. I have been fragging it to keep it under control. Light is about 75 par.
