So I was browsing my LFS when I saw a Mantis Shrimp around 2 inchesnlong, and in the second that I saw him before he his I noticed he looked like the Mantis from the liveaquaria picture, is he a G Smithii?

That looks like either a G. Ternatensis or G. Graphurus, probably the former.

He's around 1.5-2 inches now. I'm guessing he wouldn't appreciate my 5.5 gallon aquarium when he grows up? |

I think he'd probably appreciate a 20+ gallon tank. I know Kharn had a couple of G. Graphurus back in the day.
