Rails for mitras
i am looking for new Led fixtures and can't find a rail kit option with the hanging kit for the Mitras.
i need something like the RMS for the radion or HMS for AI , the idea being i want to do cable management the tank is peninsula so aesthetics for hanging are important to. open to thoughts. |

There is the GHL Flex Mount which mounts to the back of the stand. You can raise and lower the lights, move them forward and back and there is a channel to route the wire through down the back side of the tank. These are really nice mounts and very well made!

How were you thinking about suspending the 3 fixtures? The RMS mount you mentioned clips onto the glass but using something mounted to the glass to hold 3 Mitras and the bar would be a pretty substantial amount of weight and would be a concern to me if it was attached to a glass aquarium. Especially given the amount of torque it would put on the glass (assuming the mount was on the back glass) since the lights would be pulling forward on it. If it was mounted to the sides that may be different. If you have some thoughts on how you would like to mount this, I may be able to help you come up with a solution.

for the RMS solution you can get the rail which connects between them and then use the hanging kit ...so there is no contact with the glass that is the ideal solution for me...cause i would only have power cables visible on one corner. I've had radion all previous generations and feel like trying something different |

You could use an RMA mutli track setup and then use the Mitras articulating mounts that I use to connect to the track. There is a slot in the RMS track that could be used with the articulating mounts. You would just need some screws, nuts and washers so that the washer washers and or nuts fit into the slot on the RMS track. These are the articulating mounts I use. http://aquariumledmounts.com/product...x7-series-leds This is one of my Mitras on the above articulating mounts. There are 2 mount points/screw holes on the base of the articulating mount that you use for connecting them to a light rack or canopy. You could run machine screws through it and then use a washer and nut to secure it inside the RMS tracks slot. This would allow you to slide the lights left to right for spacing as well as angle them in any direction to minimize shading and light bleed out into the room. The other alternative would be a pair of the Mitra flex mounts on the sides of the tank with some alumining in between them and the articulating mounts mounted to that. This is the RMS track showing the slot that can be used as a means of mounting the articulating mounts for the Mitras.

thats a great idea...so the RMS track with those articulating mounts could be leveraged as mounts for a variety of LEDs like the Mitras and the Kessil AP700 too ( another one on my list)

Any ideas on this rail and how to get it. Appears to be what I would like. Was thinking a piece of pvc with the Mitras connected to it but this would be stronger. Probably mount with this and appropriate bolts that will fit the rail and allow the fixture to slide: http://aquariumledmounts.com/product...x7-series-leds Last edited by RegalAngel; 03/27/2017 at 09:58 AM. |
