This post is in reference to the DIY "inexpensive" light hanger.
No offense to you or anything, but your DIY light hanger is not inexpensive. It is actually the opposite. You can purchase a nice(r) light hanger cheaper than what you would pay to do this home project. 10' of conduit pipe @ Home Depot - $15 ($30 for 2 and $45 for the bold who want to try bending pipe themselves) Home Depot apparently doesnt bend pipe, nor do they cut it. Worthless much? Exactly why I dont go to Home Depot . Thats another $50 for a pipe bender. The sunlifts to hold the fixture on the pipe, $24 bucks plus shipping. $30 bucks. Im at $140 dollars for 2 pipes, sun lifts, and a pipe bender. Already over the price for an already constructed light hanger. I still havnt even added the prices for the brackets, screws, decorative nuts, or end caps. Cheap, yes. But with the economy we live in today, this DIY method should be saved for people who have nothing but time and money to waste. AquaticLife Stand Light Fixture Hangers - $111.34 shipping included. http://www.marinedepot.com/AquaticLi...MOFTHK-vi.html /rant. |
